After trailing by 16 at halftime, the Baylor Bears (16-8, 6-5) nearly pulled off the unthinkable in…
As has been the case for much of the year, the Bears came out in the second half and went cold offensively. Baylor only scored 6 points in the opening 8 minutes of the second half, allowing Wayland to claw their way back into the game. By the second media break, the Bears' lead had been cut to 7 points. Following a pair of Fred Ellis free throws, the Bears held WBU scoreless for the next 5 minutes and extended their lead. With only a couple of minutes remaining, Coach Scott Drew pulled the starters and allowed the second team to close out the game.
Dunn finished the game with 17 points, placing him atop the scoring list with 2,196. He's now 61 points away from passing Texas Tech's Andre Emmett as the Big 12's career scoring leader.
The Bears will square off with Texas Tech this Saturday at 7:00 in Waco.
