Texas Tech came up short against No. 13 Kansas State on Tuesday night inside the United Spirit Arena falling to 2-7 in conference play this season.

Lubbock, TX – The Red Raiders were able to cut the No. 13 Wildcats lead down to three on two occasions during Tuesday night’s meeting inside the United Spirit Arena, but in the end Kansas State was too much registering a 68-59 victory.

Texas Tech (9-11, 2-7 in Big 12 Conference play), coming off consecutive 15-plus turnover games, looked like a completely different team turning over the ball only four times, a new season low, but struggled on the boards – Wildcats outrebounding the Red Raiders 38-20.

Kansas State (18-4, 7-2) had contributions from multiple players, four Wildcats reaching double digits, Rodney McGruder leading the way with 18 points on 6-for-11 from the field.

Sophomore Jordan Tolbert for the fifth-consecutive game reached the double figure mark scoring 19 on 7-for-12 shooting from the field. The 19 points also marked a new season-high for the Fort Worth native.

Along with Tolbert, Dejan Kravic and Josh Gray reached double digits in scoring, 12 and 10, respectively, and Kravic also led the team in rebounds registering seven in the loss.

Red Raiders are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Waco to take on the Baylor Bears, Tech fell to Baylor on January 8, 82-48; first tip is set for 3 p.m. inside the Ferrell Center.
