Zay'Coven Henderson Looking For A Home
After committing to the TCU Horned Frogs back in February, Zay'Coven Henderson felt that he found a home and that TCU would be a place that he could get a great education. Well with his recruiting beginning to pick up from schools such as Baylor, Texas, Texas Tech, Ole'Miss, and Arkansas, the 6'3, 270 lb Junior out of Longview (TX) HS, felt like he rushed his decision and little quickly and wanted to take his official visits.
The first stop on his official visit train was an official to Texas, to watch the Longhorns face the Kansas State Wildcats. While he says that he had a great visit, he admits "I'm sure I'll like it everywhere but I'm going to have a hard decision." So what is the 4* Defensive Tackle looking for in a school? "I just have to feel at home."
BearsIllustrated has confirmed that Zay'Coven attended the game against West Virginia, and has reached out to him for his thoughts on the game.
Rockwall RB Takes In Baylor
Chris Warren needs no introduction to Baylor recruiting circles. It is no surprise that the 6'2, 220 lb RB is at the top of the radar for the Bears. He has the NFL bloodlines, his father Chris Warren II played 11 season in the NFL, and has the power to go along with his 4.5 speed. He is a nightmare for opposing defenses and is a load to bring down. After starting the year off very strong, with back to back 4 TD games, his season was cut short due to a torn ACL. It was an unfortunate end to what looked like the beginning of a breakout Junior year.
While he is recovering, the Rockwall (TX) HS RB will still continue his recruiting voyage. This included a visit to the Bears game against Big 12 opponent West Virginia. What did the 4* prospect think of the game? "I went, and I think it's unnecessary that y'all (Baylor) keep scoring 70 on these poor guys," he said with a laugh. The most important thought, that will put a smile on Bears fans face was this, "They have real BCS championship contender capability."
We will check in with Chris throughout the rest of the year to get an update on his recovery.
Devin Williams Talks Cal Visit
Texas is known for it's prolific offenses and great Quarterbacks. The likes of Andrew Luck, Matthew Stafford, Robert Griffin III, and others have graced the field on Friday nights in Texas. One such quarterback that is already making noise as a sophomore, is Devin Williams. Devin is starting his first year at Ft. Worth (TX) Southwest HS, and is already off to an explosive start in 2013 with over 1500 yards passing and 10+ TDs. With Baylor an early favorite to land the services of this electric sophomore QB (Baylor has not extended an offer yet), Devin will be making his rounds to visit schools that have shown interest in him.
His first visit was to Berkeley, California to visit the Cal Bears. How did the visit go? "It was great, I was real impressed! They treated me well out there, and the facilities and weather stood out to me. There's so many things you can do." And while he enjoyed his visit to California, it didn't keep him from watching the Baylor Bears. "Oh yea, lol, Baylor is ballin for real this year and I really like that!" BearsIllustrated will keep an eye on Devin to see how his season progresses.
