As a defensive back, you must have the size, speed, and intelligence to be successful. These are the exactly the traits that Arlington Bowie defensive back Chris Jones possesses. Jones currently holds three scholarship offers, but which school is his leader at the moment? Find out at BearsIllustrated.com. It's free.

Standing 6-2 180, Chris Jones, a safety/cornerback, out of Arlington Bowie High School recently was clocked at a 4.46 forty. Jones is not taking the summer off, but is preparing hard for next season. Running track and working out are the two things that you can find Chris Jones doing this summer.

Jones is primarily being recruited as a safety, his preferred position, but explains that he can play cornerback as well. This hard-hitting prospect does admit that there are a couple of things he needs to work on to prepare himself for college football. Getting faster and learning more technique are the two things Jones says he needs to work on.

Jones is also a very good student, not only in the classroom, but also in the filmroom.

"I get my mind ready. When I am watching film, I see what the opposing teams' weaknesses and strengths are. I try to compare what I am doing to it."

So what goes on in Jones' head before every snap of the ball?

"I am thinking that I must make sure that I am doing my job. If it comes down to it, if it comes down to me, I am going to make sure my job is done right."

Jones currently holds offers from Baylor, Houston, and UTEP. So does he have a leader?

"Right now, I am thinking kind of Baylor."

Jones is hearing from several schools across the nation including Kansas, Wisconsin, Nebraska, among others.

Jones has not visited Baylor University's campus yet but says he plans on doing so in the future.

Jones was an honorable mention all-district player last year, but he has set his personal goals a bit higher for the upcoming season.

"I am going to try to get all-district, and catch as many interceptions as I can. Most importantly, I want to help my team win."

With Jones' positive attitude coupled with the talent he brings to the football field, it is no surprise he is drawing the attention of coaches around the country.

As always, BearsIllustrated.com will keep you up informed on the recruiting front.
