and you will be impressed. Talk with Courtney Green and you will be even more impressed. Not too many high school seniors know the ins and outs of their position. Courtney Green does. BearsIllustrated.com had the chance to talk with Courtney to get the latest on his recruitment.
As he is lifting weights, running, and conditioning for the upcoming football season, Courtney Green feels like he is in the best shape of his prep career. Being recruited as a guard, Green explains that it does not matter which side of the line he plays on.
"I played on the right side these last two years, and I played on the left side my sophomore year. It doesn't really matter."
Anyone who has seen Courtney Green play, including Green himself, would agree on what his biggest strengths on the football field are.
"Playing against good defenses, and having a lot of pancakes [blocks] every game. I've got quick feet, and it's getting better. I ran a 4.9 in the forty."
, Oklahoma State
, Iowa State
are the schools recruiting Green the hardest according to Green. At this time his favorites are LSU, Baylor, and OSU.
Although Courtney Green has not visted the school, he explains that he played at Floyd Casey stadium, home of the Baylor Bear football team.
"We had a playoff game there, and I have seen the campus there and everything. It was pretty nice. I liked it."
So as the time draws nearer to make a decision, what is it that Courtney Green is looking for in a school?
"The campus, and how it looks, the environment. Probably to start my freshman year, and probably somewhere close to home."
Courtney Green expressed that he is good friends with Baylor signee Jay Finley
, a running back from Corsicana High School, and a former teammate of Green's.
As for a decision, Green has a timetable.
"I'll probably commit in two or three weeks."
Green not only hits the field hard, he also hits the film room pretty hard.
"I stay after practice and lift weights and try to watch film all the time. There's not too many starters coming back on the offensive line, so it is good."
