Meet Baylor's Newest Commit

He carries around a familiar name to most Baylor football fans. His father was a legend at Baylor, and now he will be creating his own path. He will be doing it at Baylor University. The son of former NFL star Vann McElroy, V.J. McElroy gave his pledge to Baylor today.

With legit speed (4.32 forty), VJ McElroy 5-11 175 Uvalde quarterback will more than likely make the switch to defensive back and return specialist. His speed was too much to pass up, and Baylor offered him a scholarship to play where he will follow his father's footsteps.

"He did what he did and he is in the Hall of Fame there, and I'm real proud of that. I want to do something for myself too, though."

Getting a good education while playing for a Baylor program that V.J. is familiar with were important factors as McElroy made the decision.

McElroy joins Chris Francis, LB from Cedar Hill, as a legacy from this recruiting class. McElroy is Baylor's 14th commit so far.
