Baylor Bears Head To Boulder:Keys to the Game

The Baylor Bears (2-3) head to Boulder, Colorado to take on the Buffaloes (0-5). The Bears are coming off a victory over Big 12 opponent Kansas State, while Colorado is trying to recover after a loss to Missouri. BearsIllustrated.com takes a look at a few keys to the game.

Keys to the Game:

1) Containing Colorado quarterback Bernard Jackson both on the ground and through the air. The Bears' defense displayed a dominating performance in their Big 12 opener holding the Kansas State Wildcats to only 3 points. However, Bernard Jackson could possibly present problems with his legs, and looks to get the vertical passing game going.

2)Take advantage of turnovers. The Baylor Bears caused 5 turnovers last week against Kansas State, but the Baylor offense is having a hard time capitalizing on them and turning them into points. The Bears will look to win the turnover battle obviously, but the offense needs to turn those turnovers into points.

3)Make the big play. Shawn Bell connected on a 75 yard touchdown strike last week to Trent Shelton, Baylor's leading wide receiver. Throwing deep is not something the Bears have done often, choosing to rely on underneath routes to gain yards. The Baylor offense has proven that they can be successful throwing the ball downfield, and it all starts up front in pass protection.
