Courtney Green: Rock Solid

At 6-4 285, Courtney Green is one of the best offensive linemen in the state of Texas. A 3-star recruit out of Corsicana High School in Corsicana, Texas, Green gave his commitment to the Baylor Bears weeks ago. BearsIllustrated.com caught up with Green to get the latest.

Before the heart-breaking 34-31 Homecoming loss to Lancaster on Friday night, BearsIllustrated.com caught up with highly touted Corsicana offensive lineman and Baylor commit Courtney Green. Green is a 6-4 285 pound mobile lineman that has the ability to transition from high school football to college football without missing a beat. Here are the highlights of BearsIllustrated.com's exclusive interview with Courtney Green:

ON CORSICANA'S SEASON SO FAR:

"We're doing good this year, but we have played some tough teams. The teams that we have played, we haven't played before. Our pre-season, we were 1-3, but we are playing hard. All it is, is that we need to fix some errors, get the main details down, just the little things and we will be alright.

"The teams that we are playing, they are not beating us, we are beating ourselves."

ON HIS INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE

"This year, I haven't gone against anybody really big on the defensive line. I got my ankle rolled up in the 2nd game and that kind of slowed me down, but everything is going pretty good."

ON PLAYING LANCASTER:

"We play Lancaster for Homecoming, and I got a homeboy, Anthony Morgan, he is going to Baylor with me. They are going to run at us, they play in the 'I' and the offset 'I'. We will be ready for them, and we are working on the little things. We are needing to get to where we want to get to and that is playoffs and state."

ON HIS COMMITMENT TO BAYLOR:

"I went to the first game, when Baylor played TCU with Chris Sanders. I met a lot of recruits from out of town. We had a lot of fun. They just started conference, and they just beat Kansas State. They got off to a bad start, but they are kind of like us. I am excited about coming there. It is a good school, and they will treat me right."

ON CURRENT TEAMMATE CHRIS SANDERS:

"We are trying to be roommates if they let us, but right now me and Chris are like cousins. He is working hard on defense, and I am trying to get better. Baylor has a good offense, and everything is good, but with this recruiting class coming in this year, I think we will be real good."
