The Baylor Bears men's basketball team improved it's record to 4-1 as they defeated the Alcorn State Braves by a final score of 90-59.

It was only a matter of time before Aaron Bruce found his rhythm, and tonight the 6-3 Baylor junior guard displayed why he is one of the most talented players in the country.

Bruce only saw the court for 29 minutes, but he managed to get his shot going for the first time this season. The hot-handed guard drilled 6 of 9 from beyond the three-point line finishing as the game's high scorer with 20 points.

The Baylor Bears started off slower than they have all year, but turned it on early in the first half with Curtis Jerrells leading the way. The sophomore guard out of Austin seemed to score at will during a stretch in the first half and ended up with 16 points on the night. The Bears trailed early 7-6, but Jerrells drove to the lane getting the layup and the foul and put the Bears ahead 9-7. Scott Drew's Baylor Bears never looked back. While it was nice to see both Jerrells and Bruce find their stroke, Baylor coach Scott Drew explained that the biggest positive is the assist to turnover ratio. Both Bruce and Jerrells recorded 6 assists each while neither turned the ball over more than twice.

The Bears return to action on Wednesday as they face Grambling State in a 7 p.m. start at the Ferrell Center.
