LaMarque Star Talks Baylor

With signing day quickly approaching, it is "crunch time" for both schools and players. BearsIllustrated.com caught up with one player yet to make a commitment. He is a member of the LaMarque State Championship football team. Come inside to see what he had to say.

He stand 6-3 240, and he also helped lead his LaMarque High School football team to the Texas State Championship title this year. Raphael Guidry is one of several high school athletes waiting to make his college commitment. However, because LaMarque's season lasted longer than most (winning state), he did not get to make a lot of the visits he wanted to make.

"Our season was so long, we really couldn't take visits. We were so busy and focused on the season, it seemed like colleges didn't think we were interested."

Guidry made one official visit to Kansas State in November, and he came away impressed. He plans on heading to another Big 12 school next week.

"I am planning on making a visit to Baylor next weekend."

The talented defensive lineman talked about teammates Jo Jo Florence and Michael Ray, and he mentioned the possibility of all three playing together on the next level.

"It's definitely a possibility, but I don't really know anything right now. The best chance for us to play together is at Baylor."

Guidry explained that he will look at all his choices, and make a decision after evaluating all of his options.
