Jeramie Roberts, a bigtime talent at South Garland High School, decided to end his recruitment today and give his pledge to the Baylor Bears. The 6'4" 305 pound 3 star offensive lineman is ranked the 39th best guard in the country by Scout.com, and BearsIllustrated caught up with him to get his take on the day's events.

"I feel like this is the right college for me. Baylor has what I am looking for, and I believe this is going to be the place for me."

Roberts discusses what set Baylor apart from other schools that had offered him a football scholarship such as Miami, Colorado, Texas Tech, and Kansas.

"They have what I am looking for in a school, it is close to home, my parents can come see my games, and I like the way Coach Clements coaches."

Roberts explains that he and Baylor offensive line coach Randy Clements developed a good relationship allowing Roberts to feel comfortable making his commitment to the Baylor Bears.

"I think he is a good coach. I want to be coached by a really good coach, and I think he is the guy. Here, they [the Baylor football coaching staff] want to see guys become men. They want us to come here and have a good season, and be better as a team. I think the coaches are all wanting to do that."

Roberts participated in the Baylor mini-camp held Friday on the Baylor University campus, and explains some of the things he learned.

"I played defense for the past year, and he wants me to play offensive guard. The things he taught me today are things that I look forward to my senior year."

The talented lineman will join former high school teammate, quaterback Nick Florence on the Baylor football roster next season, and Roberts feels like together they will do well and win football games. As far as his recruitment goes, Roberts expresses that he is firm in his commitment to the Baylor Bears, and it is somewhat of a relief ending the process.

"It is a relief. All of the colleges that I have been to, the coaches are all very good guys. Wherever you go, the coaches are all going to be good guys. But, I think here they are just better."
