In the 105th "Battle of the Brazos", the Baylor Bears proved to be too much for the overmatched Aggies. The Bears' running game struck early and often as Baylor running back Jay Finley ran for 116 yards on 23 carries and a touchdown. Baylor's quarterback, true freshman Robert Griffin, carried the ball 12 times for 56 yards and always seemed to make a big play with his legs when he needed to. Baylor senior running back, Jacoby Jones, had a big day on Senior Night at Floyd Casey Stadium rushing 8 times for 54 yards and two touchdowns. On the day, the Bears rushed for 269 yards on 52 carries, a 5.2 yard per carry average, and 3 touchdowns.

The Bears also showed they could pass on the Aggies defense as well. Griffin connected on 13 for 23 passing for 241 yards through the air, 2 tocuhdowns, and no interceptions. The Bears' leading receiver on the night was fellow true freshman Kendall Wright, who carved up the Aggies secondary with 4 catches and a touchdown. Senior Thomas White made a big impact hauling in 3 receptions for 70 yards including a 55 yard touchdown reception at the beginning of the second half. Ernest Smith recorded two receptions for 53 yards, and 4 Baylor receivers each caught a pass.
