Baylor Beats Mizzou for Big Road Win

The Baylor Bears needed something positive to happen - they got it Saturday in Columbia, Missouri as they defeated the Missouri Tigers.

Injuries and mistakes had really put a damper in the excitement of Baylor football in the 2009 season. But in football, all that excitement can rush back after a big victory. And the Baylor Bears got just that on Saturday after defeating the Missouri Tigers 40-32.

True Freshman Nick Florence had a career day, completing 32 of 43 passes for 427 yards and 3 touchdowns. 10 of those completions when to Kendall Wright, who had a huge day with 149 yards and 3 touchdowns. Senior David Gettis also continued his stellar play hauling in 8 catches for 110 yards.

Although the Bears still couldn't get their ground game going, netting only 38 yards, it didn't matter as they took what Missouri gave them and beat them through the air.

After a great performance against Nebraska last week, the Baylor defense struggled giving up 468 yards to Missouri freshman Blaine Gabbert. But when they needed to most, the Baylor defense stepped up for sacks, pass break-ups or key tackles.

The Bears will return to action next week against the #2 ranked Texas Longhorns back in Waco.
