BearsIllustrated.com has confirmed that Spencer Drango has given his commitment to Art Briles and the Baylor Bears football program.
Drango is a 6'6", 270lb four star offensive tackle out of Cedar Park high school. Scout.com ranks Drango as the 28th best offensive tackle in the nation.
Drango had been down to a top 2 of Baylor and Stanford before opting to commit to the private University about 90 minutes away from his home. Drango also held offers from several other Big 12 and Pac 10 schools, including Texas Tech, Kansas, California, and UCLA.
"I love the coaches a lot," he said. "I also have a great relationship with the players already. I feel like they are a lot like me over there," Drango told Scout.com after attending Baylor's camp last month.
Previously, Drango informed Scout.com that he can bench 315 pounds, squat 385, and had a 28 inch vertical jump. He also had this to say about his game: "I've been told I'm good at pass protection. I'm aggressive and I finish my blocks. I'm not done working on my game. I'm trying to get better at everything. I still want to get faster and stronger and work on my technique."
He plans to major in either business or engineering.
